In summer, whether you are a man or a woman, the trend is a perfect tan, to live up to the expectations of our colleagues at the beginning of the course… or simply to feel good about yourself. .
To apply a beautiful even tan on our little face, nothing could be easier, simply expose yourself to the sun, remembering to take care of sunburn and therefore not abusing UVA/UVB rays, which, remember, are still harmful to the skin.
Without exposing yourself to excess, sometimes all you need is a simple walk to get a tan!
Today we are not going to describe what you have probably already read everywhere, but on the contrary, we are going to offer you 5 unexpected tips that are 100% practical and useful on vacation.
1 – Exfoliates: before, during and after tanning
Let’s get rid of a received idea that is not to do a light exfoliation regularly to enhance the golden tan. In fact, if some people think about exfoliating their face (and body) before the holidays, in order to have smooth and clean skin, many forget to do it during the holidays, thinking that it will erase the tan.
Not so, a light non-aggressive exfoliation, once a week, removes dead cells and allows you to get a better tan again! Small dead skin cells do not tan…. Also, the golden color of your epidermis comes from melanin, a color pigment. Light exfoliation will not remove this stain. And even without overexposure, your tan will last longer.
2 – Use a self-tanner before going out….
If you’re a fan of UV booths to prep your skin, consider self-tanner! As we have seen, melanin is a pigmentation created by skin cells that gives it that famous more or less dark coloration. Its purpose is to help protect the skin from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. But some self-tanners help prepare the skin by also stimulating tyrosinase, which begins to generate melanin. Think about it a week before you go. Your skin will be ready and the tan more harmonious.
3 – Shave or get a beard!
It’s silly, but you still have to know so you don’t get caught: During the holidays, it’s easy to succumb to a beard. We are cooler and it is fashionable anyway…. But be careful when you come back… if you want to go back to work like before, if you are not a bearded man at heart, you will have to shave and expose a much whiter part of your face than the rest. Two solutions: shave regularly for an even tan, or adopt a beard (at least until the fall).
4 – Protect your skin… for a better tan
It’s paradoxical, but a face (and a body) well protected by a sun cream or an oil with an index of 30, for example, allows you to better control the progression of your tan. In fact, if the SPF 50+ rating, previously called «full screen», is a true barrier against harmful UV rays, nothing stops you from using a less strong rating. You will be able to avoid sunburn and other redness while controlling, day after day, the increase in melanin.
5 – Wear makeup for men
It is the secret of the stars who understand (for some) that their skin will wrinkle (and become ugly) prematurely due to the abuse of tanning, natural or in the cabin. If like them, you want to achieve a beautiful golden tan, and why not throughout the year, men’s makeup is becoming more accessible to everyone. More and more businessmen and students are fond of it, maintaining their virility. It is clear that brands are playing the game by formulating 100% masculine ranges.
Like Ménaji, who has just launched “Power Hydrator Plus” with three shades (light, medium and dark) to better match your skin, gentlemen. It’s a men’s makeup primer that doubles as a foundation, which you can use as a complexion-enhancing color moisturizer in no time. Mattifying and undetectable effect guaranteed! Plus, it’s formulated with hypoallergenic natural ingredients and has an SPF 30 rating. It’s well thought out anyway. So if you don’t have the opportunity to go out in the sun this summer, don’t hesitate, think about a tinted moisturizer… and it’s safe for your skin!
