Since men’s skin is often quite oily by nature, pores are easily enlarged and appear visible to the naked eye. However, they are essential as they allow the skin to be continuously hydrated, thanks to the sebum it releases.
Due to multiple factors, hormonal, skin aging, exposure to external aggressions (cold, pollution, stress, sun, etc.), the pores can no longer regulate the sebum produced by the epidermis and clogs. This creates a pimple and then pimples. Without reaching this stage, enlarged pores do not offer the vision of beautiful skin. However, there are some tricks to tightening them.
This lens allows you to visually refine the texture of the skin and eliminate a blurred complexion
1 – Salicylic acid to clean pores
The first reflex to adopt is to clear the pores using a salicylic acid-based face wash for men, which is more effective than soap. Its use allows to eliminate a) mechanically and b) enzymatically (action of the active ingredient) dead cells and other impurities accumulated throughout the day. You can even use it in the morning and at night.
2 – Clay to absorb excess sebum
As we have seen, this is the main consequence of enlarged pores: the overproduction of sebum. To absorb it effectively, it is recommended to use a clay-based face mask once a week. Its use eliminates the sebum present on the surface of the skin, revitalizes the skin cells and gives the complexion a youthful effect.
3 – Cold water to visually squeeze the grain
It’s an Artist Make Up trick that works pretty well… without any investment on your part. If hot water helps open up your pores (before cleansing or exfoliation), it’s a good idea to end your daily routine with a cold water wash. Ideally right after shaving and before applying moisturizer. The best? Finally, gently rub an ice cube over your face.
4 – An astringent lotion to rebalance the dermis
A toning lotion to apply with a cotton pad directly to the face is usually a good idea. Very few men use it, its use on oily skin is wonderful. The 4VOO range toner minimizes the appearance of pores and features anti-aging and antioxidant ingredients suitable for men over 30 years of age. Note, for example, algae extracts rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Prickly pear, rich in vitamin C, to promote the natural production of collagen by the skin. Birch bark extract to minimize the shiny appearance of the skin in one step. Calendula, cornflower, St. John’s wort, linden or chamomile… for their regenerative, hydrating, soothing and anti-inflammatory aspects.
5 – Stability for an effective routine
When we have a dull complexion and visually dilated pores, we may be tempted to multiply cleaning, care, always wanting to control its shine… However, your skin also needs rest and stability. Respect these 2 rules: «clean, exfoliate, moisturize» is fine… but do it without excesses! And once you’ve found the right treatments that make up your daily routine, avoid changing them too often. Your epidermis needs several days to get used to a new product!
